For a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
Acts 11:26
Pakistan had their first graduations. They hosted seven gradations with a total of 146 students. Two years ago, the Lord’s Home ministry began training their people using the two-year Orality Institute curriculum. Their leader Ryan understood oral instruction, so his staff taught a group of 15 leaders four lessons every month. Those 15 leaders taught a class of their own for two years. This was the first time a group trained their people from the beginning without our assistance, evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work.
At every graduation, two students shared testimonies from the training they received. Naeem said, I never imagined how much this training would change me. I feel ready to share the stories of God anytime and anywhere. Neehah said, In the beginning I wondered how I could learn or share these stories, now the Word of God is part of me. I look forward to taking His Word into many dark places because when we share His Word, God is at work. Rimsha said, This training has been remarkable and life transforming. Now we understand how we can serve the Lord for His Kingdom. We give all the glory to our Almighty God. Nida said, We have learned how to connect the stories of God’s Word with daily life, especially for those who are non-Christians. I have experienced great joy and blessing from learning the stories and I want to share them with others so their lives can be blessed. These testimonies are the evidence of what God is doing in Pakistan. We look forward to continue to partner with this group for our sake as much as theirs. Practical steps we could do include: translating Romans into Urdu, paying for the printing of curriculum, getting the Catechism ready so that they could implement that training. We can also be learning from them regarding the vision that they have for their country and beyond.
Expansive
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Eph 3:20
Past news reports about Pakistan included: church burnings, persecution, and flooding. All of those are true, but there is much more going on quietly behind the scenes.
We expected major flooding from what we had seen on international news. Some large areas were affected, but none of that affected our ministry. The US State Department labels travel in Pakistan as a Level Orange, but we had freedom to travel and were even encouraged to post our pictures. Many international ministries have mixed motives, but the vision and agenda of the Lord’s Home ministry is clear and they opperate with a high level of integrity.
The vision of the Lord’s Home for an oral strategy is expansive. They are ready to study the Romans curriculum and introduce the upcoming oral catechism. They have plans to use their existing stories to reach refugees, those who attend shrines, street children, pastors, and those who have an interest in what the Bible says about the prophets.
Their use of technology is surprising. They are testing the curriculum by entering it into software that creates a computer-generated structure of the content, a quiz, an audio podcast, and a video. There are two women with good computer skills who have proposed ways they could help the Orality Institute web presence. One of them is going to work on ways to help increase the search visibility and functionality of our website. This is an area that is important in order to grow our global presence. The second one works with social media marketing to help ministries interact with the people who need their ministry. These two women are going to assist us with technical areas of Orality Institute that need to be improved. The Lord knows how to provide for our needs and expand His kingdom through unexpected means, and you are a part of His provision.
