First Timothy
When I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. But now… Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of your faith and love. 1 Thessalonians 3:5-6
August 1st these two men, Musasizi Wilson and Namuyonjo David, set out for our second mission trip to South Sudan. The two of them will be near Juba, South Sudan for two weeks as they check the classes started last year.
Musasizi Wilson, on the right, has traveled to almost every location we have held classes in Uganda. He served as the chairman of the Ambassador Institute in Uganda and is now one of the international missionaries traveling from Uganda. He has taught the oral training internationally in Malawi, Tanzania, and now South Sudan for his second time.
Namuyonjo David, on the left, is the current chairman of the Ambassador Institute in Uganda. He is a pastor and a rural medical doctor. His church has been our meeting location whenever we have a larger event in his village. During Covid, he was called on by the government to administer vaccines in the rural areas. This will be his first international trip and he will be learning from Musasizi as they check up on the classes and help invigorate them to press on in their studies. It is natural for the excitement and enthusiasm that students initially feel to be tested as they go through the hard two year process of memorizing scripture.
Paul is coordinating this trip to South Sudan and preparing for an exploratory trip to Kenya. In November, Kevin will be visiting Malawi to celebrate the graduation of their first students who have completed two years of study. That trip will include a visit to Zambia with Ernest Chigawa where the class he initiated has progressed through the whole first year of curriculum in a very short time.

I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.
Philippians 2:19-20
August 1st was not only Nate Jore’s birthday, it was a special day for the Orality Institute because it marked his start day as a fellow partner in our work of “Equipping disciples one story at a time.” We are grateful for the unity that we feel and for the opportunities this additional team member allows us as this ministry expands.
Nate will begin with the churches in the United States that have requested oral training for their congregation. Those requests have come from small churches wondering if they will be able to continue as a church, medium churches wanting a tool to use in their evangelism and discipleship, and larger churches that are looking for a natural way for their people to share their faith in their everyday lives.
We pray that those who have supported Nate and Rhoda through AFLC World Missions will continue to do so through the Orality Institute. The Orality Institute has a general budget instead of individual accounts. We believe that this builds a sense of teamwork as we work together to raise finances to build the Lord’s kingdom instead of individual accounts. To get a picture of what lies ahead, Nate will work with several churches that have already contacted him. Some have started oral study groups, some want to start this fall, and some are curious about how this could help them. Kevin will be organizing the 30-mile Bike ride that will start at 8:00 a.m. at Elm Creek Park in Maple Grove on September 21st. Paul is hosting the 5th annual Grand Canyon hike. The hikers will stay near the canyon on October 11th and 12th with a large meal to follow this monumental feat.
