God’s Grand Plan

One of the primary goals of biblical education is developing an awareness of God’s grand plan woven throughout the Bible. Many people know the stories of the Bible without seeing how they connect to each other. They can see the individual parts without seeing how they fit into the greater plan of salvation. For example, it is important to understand how the Old Testament lays the foundation for the New Testament and how Jesus is revealed throughout the Old Testament. When people see the big picture, the result is transformative.
We have found that people are also unaware of the bigger ministry of the Orality Institute. First, it is a failure on our part to communicate clearly, and second, it is a challenge for people to understand a new style or strategy of ministry. Try the quiz to test your awareness of what the Orality Institute has been doing.
There are two upcoming awareness events for the Orality Institute on Friday, October 15th. The first, is the annual Grand Canyon Hike. There will be two hiking groups that start out together going down the south rim. At the bottom one group will go up to the north rim, that is a 22-mile Rim-to-Rim hike. The other group will up another trail on the south rim, that is an 18-mile hike. Both hikes require well prepared and well-conditioned hikers. Pastor Paul Kneeland will coordinate and guide these trips. The details can be found at www.facebook.com/paul.kneeland or email at paulk@oralityinstitute.org.
The second event will be a one-hundred-mile Minneapolis bike ride. That ride will begin and end at Emmaus Lutheran in Bloomington. Pastor Kevin Olson will lead that trip. If interested contact him at kevino@oralityinstitute.org. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27
